Details, Details, Details.

Details make perfection,
and perfection is not a detail.

Ghita

‘It feels great to
make people happy
with a beautiful new interior'

Ghita has interior design in her blood. She grew up in a family with a successful artisan carpenter business specialising in home and shop interiors. She learned valuable lessons from her father; for example, the importance of a balanced interior design and the creation of smart solutions that allow for the optimal use of spaces.

With an incredible 15 year track record as a designer, Ghita makes everything beautiful. She’s stylish, smart and savvy in her design choices. Her eye for design is impeccable and she embodies a wide range of visual concepts. From the design of homes and offices, printed and online based communication, to the design of showrooms, events and stands. Bright, lively and exceptional; are the words to describe projects completed by Ghita.

Her ability to translate her wide range of disciplines and experiences has contributed enormously to the one thing that she’s a natural at and loves doing the most; combining graphic design elements with spatial design making it possible to create stunning interiors!

In 2003, Ghita received her BA of Arts (with honours) in Graphic Design from The University of Lincoln, England. Before this, she successfully completed her study in Advertising, Presentation & Communication at Sint Lucas Boxtel in the Netherlands.

This is how we work

You have a vision and you’ve decided to work with a professional and experienced interior design team to make that vision a reality. Now wouldn’t it be fabulous if your design project moved as quickly as they do on television? Just imagine: you sign a letter of agreement and voila the demo crew is at your front door early the next morning ready to go!

Oh, if only it was that simple! Let’s get back to reality…here’s a brief outline of the real phases an interior design project moves through, so you know what to expect before you begin, and feel comfortable with the process; because after all, we’ll be in this together.

Phase 1 • Programming

Think of the Programming Phase like you would a first date, but without the butterflies. This is where we’ll get to know all about you and your desires for your new space. During this visit we’ll ask you a number of relevant questions, inventory your existing furnishings, photograph and measure your space, and discuss your project budget and timeline. Not great first date material, but it’s important for your project.

If needed, we will also meet with your architect, and any other consultants involved, before beginning the next phase – Design Development.

Phase 2 • Design Development

It’s now up to us to interpret your vision as part of the design development. We are so excited we can’t contain ourselves. The creative ideas are flowing and we can’t wait to share them with you. When we present it you’ll know we, “get you”. What a great second date!

This is the phase where we generate technical drawings. These drawings clarify your vision precisely: we develop new space plans, furniture plans, and select specific colour palettes. We also select your new interior finishes such as paint, wall covering, flooring, ceiling and window treatments, mouldings, cabinetry and countertops. This phase is also when any bespoke pieces or treatments would be sketched for your review.

After we finish sourcing your job we meet with you to review the plans and finish selections and make any refinements needed. Then we finalize your design drawings and meet with you once more before starting the final detailing of your plans and ordering your furnishings, fixtures and equipment.

Phase 3 • Construction and Down payment

We’re getting more familiar with your space and our time together is increasing. It's like we’re now in a relationship and at that stage where you really get to know someone and want to be exclusive, so to speak.

During the Construction phase it’s all about the details. We detail out all of your drawings so your contractor knows exactly what our design intent is and has accurate drawings to price out your job.

After you receive several contractor bids and their proposed timelines, we assist you in reviewing each to ensure accuracy and fair pricing.

We also draft and submit purchase orders for all of your equipment, interior finishes, and furnishings so items are received and ready to install before construction begins.

Phase 4 • Construction and installation

We live for the Construction Phase! We’re engaged and starting to build something new together. This phase is filled with excitement and surprises because great interior design should change someone’s life and improve it. It’s an expression of your sense of style, created through our commitment to detail to build an everlasting result.

We stop by the job site frequently to oversee the sub-contractors and ensure the work is progressing on schedule and as planned. We meet with you weekly to address any of your concerns.

Following construction, we coordinate the delivery and installation of your new furnishings, accessories and artwork. Every part of this process has its own schedule, but we work to bring it all together so you can realize your vision.

Phase 5 • Project completion

We work hard to make the entire process happen smoothly and quickly but great interior design takes time to create and build, like a long-term relationship. But when the big day has arrived and the project is completed, you’ll see it’s worth it.

Before we end our time together, we’ll do a final walk-through with you and prepare a list of any remaining small items needing attention. We also discuss the care and maintenance of all your new finishes, furnishings and equipment so you can enjoy them for many years and maintain their new appearance. And we’ll consider it a successful relationship when you fall in love with your new space.
